More newer shots

Over the last month we have worked to finsh more of the kitchen/dining than any other part of the house. We still have drywall to install in a few areas and some skimcoating to do, but most of the walls and ceilings are done. We have to hide wires for the new flatscreen, too.

Here's a sephia shot of the kitchen/dining room. Looks like it could be original in a custom home of the 60s...at least that was part of the goal with our remodel.
The fireplace is warm and cozy....so we made a little sitting area around it. The fireplace was plastered and finished with a high gloss white paint.

Here's an early Nov kitchen shot. now the flat screen sits on the wall where the clock once was.
Here's the view from the dining room to the living room.

Much needed progress....over a month since my last post!

We finally decided that we couldn't wait to do metal in our front bare planter areas, so we hauled some river rock from our alley back up front to put in the beds and planted barrel cactus in one and 1 agave in the other.

We are 95% done with the ceilings. We have one more small area to do in the living room and a few areas in the dining/kitchen. with the new ceilings, we were able to wire for surround sound, speakers in the dining/kitchen and speakers for the outside when we finish the patio cover.

The ceilings turned out amazing...I thought they might be too dark, but they are better than I could have ever thought!

Here's a blurry shot of Matt by the festive fireplace. The fireplace needs some touch up paint, but it is essentially done!

The front yard is still transforming. I hope that I'll be happy with the design for a while. I see myself switching out some plants soon, to achieve a more modern look.
